Urban 2026
Urban 2026 is one of Glasgow Gallery of Photography's themed open calls — the gallery runs a roughly monthly schedule of themed group exhibitions across the year. The Urban call is broad: street photography that captures people inhabiting urban spaces, cityscapes, architecture, and the textures of city life all qualify.
The exhibition runs September 4 through 30, 2026 in the gallery's Glasgow space. The submission model is free to apply, pay-only-if-selected (£48 participation fee). The £48 covers all printing and installation: prints are produced on Fujifilm photographic paper, framed in gallery-supplied frames, and typically displayed at 16×12, 18×12, or 12×12 inch sizes. Photographers retain all copyright.
Selected work also appears in the gallery's online gallery and is included in the exhibition catalogue. All participants are put forward for the gallery's Photographer of the Month consideration, which functions as ongoing visibility beyond the show itself.
Eligibility is open globally — emerging and established, professional and amateur. Each photographer submits up to 8 JPEGs at minimum 300ppi and 3,000 pixels on the shortest side, named as Firstname-Surname_# and submitted via Smash, SwissTransfer, WeTransfer, or Dropbox. The 2026 deadline is May 22, 2026; acceptance notification May 27; payment due June 10.
