The Schwa Show 2026

National juried competition marking the 25th anniversary of Emerge Gallery & Art Center, the Pitt County Arts Council's home in downtown Greenville, North Carolina. Open to any medium and subject, including photography and video, for work made in the past three years and not previously shown at Emerge. The exhibition runs October 2–31, 2026, opening reception October 2. Juror Holly Garriott is Emerge's founding executive director and an associate teaching professor at East Carolina University. Cash awards total $2,300: Best of Show $1,000, Best of 2D $500, Best of 3D $500 and three Honorable Mentions of $100. Accepted work is insured during the exhibition and sales are split 70/30 in the artist's favour.
