The Emergence Project 2026

The Emergence Project is the Glasgow Gallery of Photography's annual graduate showcase, run as a free open call for recently graduated UK-based photographers. The 2026 cycle is open to anyone who graduated between 2023 and 2026 — a three-year window that captures graduates who may have missed earlier graduate showcases due to pandemic-era programming gaps.

The exhibition runs July 3 through 31, 2026 at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography. The gallery covers all printing and installation costs for selected work, with prints produced on Fujifilm photographic paper and presented in gallery-supplied frames. The selected photographer provides only the digital files.

Submissions are limited to UK-based recent graduates. Submission is free of charge.

Each photographer submits up to 8 images along with a brief statement about their work, their graduation details, and why they'd like to participate. Submissions are made by email via file transfer to submissions@glasgowgalleryofphotography.com. The 2026 deadline is May 30.
