SALTPRINT Volume 01 — From Where You Stand
First volume of SALTPRINT, an independent print photography zine and archive founded, edited and designed single-handedly by photographer and designer Petra Zegnal in Zagreb, and published every two months from open calls for photographs made across Europe. The theme From Where You Stand is about point of view — literal, emotional, political, personal or poetic: a window, a street, a daily walk, a workplace, a corner of Europe. The editor is looking for images that feel observed rather than forced, and states plainly that this is not about finding the most dramatic location. Submit one photograph, taken anywhere in Europe though you need not live there; digital or film, black and white or colour, street, documentary, landscape or portrait, shot on a camera or a phone. Selection is on connection to the theme, visual strength, atmosphere and originality rather than technical perfection, and beginners, students, self-taught and previously unpublished photographers are explicitly welcome. Three featured photographers per volume are also invited to a short written interview and receive a print copy; other selected photographers receive a digital copy. Free to enter, no payment for Volume 01, and photographers keep full copyright. Deadline 13 September 23:59 CET, selections by 30 September, publication October 2026.
