Rencontres Marrakech + OFF Arles 2026 Open Call
The Rencontres de la Photographie Marrakech is a Moroccan photography festival now in its 6th edition. The festival co-organizes its open call with Festival OFF Arles, the parallel program that runs alongside the major Rencontres d'Arles photography festival in southern France — meaning a single submission can land in both Arles and Marrakech.
The 2026 theme is "1826–2026: Two Centuries of Light," marking the bicentennial of Nicéphore Niépce's first surviving photograph. The brief invites work that explores light as origin, medium, language, and possibility across diverse photographic practices — intimate or political, abstract or documentary, conceptual or experimental.
Twenty winners are selected. Each receives an exhibition slot showing five photographs at Galerie Triptyque (12 Rue Jouvene) in Arles during the opening week of Les Rencontres d'Arles, July 3 through 20, 2026 — placement within the official OFF program of one of the world's most important photography festivals. Winners also present a video of up to 3 minutes at the Rencontres de la Photographie Marrakech festival, October 7–10, 2026, and receive a dedicated online publication of their complete series on the festival platform.
Thirty additional finalists also participate in the Marrakech video presentation (up to 2 minutes) and online publication. The festival is co-organized by Voix Plurielles (Casablanca) and Cultures Nomades Production (Arles), both non-profit non-governmental associations.
Entry fee is €15. Submissions go through Picter; the 2026 deadline is May 31, 2026 at 9:59 PM.
