Quinn Emanuel Los Angeles Artist-in-Residence 2026
Quinn Emanuel is a major U.S. litigation law firm with 32 international offices. The Quinn Emanuel Artist-in-Residence program is run by the firm's Los Angeles office, with selection committee appointed by curator Alexis Hyde and firm name partner John Quinn — making this an unusually large and well-funded artist residency hosted by a corporate entity rather than an arts organization.
The 2026 residency is four months long, running September through December 2026, followed by a one-month exhibition. Each artist receives $5,000 per month for four months ($20,000 total cash) plus an art materials allowance of up to $1,500. The studio is located within the firm's LA office with 24/7 keycard access, parking included, and full firm support during the residency.
At least one work from the residency is incorporated into the firm's permanent collection. The structure is unusual: the firm's collection becomes the long-term home for residency-produced work, with sales opportunities also available through the post-residency exhibition.
Eligibility is restricted to artists living in greater Los Angeles. International artists are welcome but must secure their own visas. Preference is given to underrepresented artists in early-to-mid career stages, working in any discipline (photography, painting, sculpture, video, mixed media). No formal education requirement.
Application is free. Submissions consist of a CV, an 8–10 image PDF portfolio, and a project proposal — combined as a single PDF up to 20MB. The 2026 deadline is May 14 at 11:59 PM PST.
