PX3 State of the World 2026

PX3 State of the World is a special PX3 (Prix de la Photographie Paris) competition focused on documentary and journalistic work. The framing is direct: "important global stories, eyewitness accounts" and "uncensored news, directly from photographers witnessing events." The brief invites series rather than single images, with the structure foregrounding sustained reportage over individual standout photographs.

Submissions are organized by continent at the entry stage: Europe, Americas, Asia, Africa, Oceania, Arctic, and Antarctic — an unusual geographic categorization that ensures regional coverage in the final selection.

Thirty photographers are selected by curator Hossein Farmani. Each receives €200 cash plus inclusion in the Paris Photo Prize annual exhibition. The exhibition travels internationally, extending the platform's reach beyond Paris.

Each submission is a series of up to 10 images sharing a common theme and a single project title. Entry fee is €35 per series. Eligibility is open to photographers 18 and over worldwide.

The 2026 deadline is May 13.
