The Print Center 101st ANNUAL International Competition
The Print Center is a long-running Philadelphia nonprofit founded in 1915 that supports artists working with photography and printmaking. The Annual International Competition has run since 1923 and is one of the oldest competitions of its kind in the United States. The 101st edition continues the tradition of treating photography and printmaking as parallel critical practices rather than separate disciplines.
Eligibility is open to local, national, and international artists. Work submitted must have been completed within the last three years — pieces finished between June 2023 and June 2026. Each artist may submit one application of up to five images or videos.
Twenty-five Semifinalists and ten Finalists are selected. Three Finalists receive Solo Exhibitions at The Print Center between January and March 2027. The competition is notable for its acquisition awards: the Philadelphia Museum of Art Collection Award places winning work into PMA's permanent collection, and the Art Museum of West Virginia University Purchase Award acquires work through the Beth and Joe Hestick Acquisitions Fund. Additional cash prizes up to $1,000 and material awards from Awagami Paper are also awarded.
The 2026 jurors are Pepe Coronado, Director and Master Printer of Coronado printstudio in Austin, and Shana Lopes, Assistant Curator of Photography at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Submissions go through SlideRoom; the entry fee is $45. The deadline is June 18, 2026 at 11:59pm ET; notifications by September 11, 2026.
