Prairie Ronde Artist Residency — Fall 2026

Prairie Ronde Artist Residency is hosted at The Mill at Vicksburg — a 416,000-square-foot former paper mill on 80 acres in Vicksburg, Michigan (101 S. Main, Suite 200). The Fall 2026 session runs five to six weeks between September 15 and December 20, with two to four residents in residence at any time.

Each resident receives a $2,000 stipend (paid on completion), a $500 travel grant, private housing in a historic village home, and a gallery exhibition in downtown Vicksburg at the end of the residency. The program also provides video documentation of the residency and a complimentary membership to the local brewery. One completed work made during the residency is donated to the residency's permanent collection.

The residency is process-based and accepts artists across all media, including photography. Writers are accepted only if they propose new work specifically related to The Mill and Vicksburg. Children of residents are welcome with an accompanying caregiver (additional costs are the artist's responsibility); pets are considered case-by-case.

Eligibility is currently restricted to U.S.-based artists — international applicants are temporarily not being considered as of April 2025. The application fee is $25. Selection is by a six-person panel comprising three former residents, one community member, and the Residency Director and Coordinator. The Fall 2026 deadline is June 15, with selections announced July 30.
