Portrait 2026

The Glasgow Gallery of Photography runs themed international juried exhibitions on a recurring schedule. Portrait 2026 is the gallery's portrait-themed cycle — open to all approaches: studio, environmental, candid, conceptual, and self-portraiture.

The gallery's fee structure is unusual: free to submit, with a £48 fee charged only if work is accepted for exhibition. Selected work is shown both in a month-long physical gallery exhibition in Glasgow and in an online gallery on the gallery's website.

Production is gallery-supplied: images are printed on Fujifilm photographic paper and framed in standard gallery frames. Photographers retain all copyright — the gallery doesn't take rights along with the print production.

Eligibility is open globally to everyone. Submission is by email via file transfer with 1–8 images. The 2026 deadline was April 24; results announced April 29, 2026.
