No-Type Monograph No. 01

No-Type is a Chicago-based independent photography publisher. Monograph No. 01 is the publisher's inaugural monograph publishing program — an open call for lens-based artists to submit a cohesive photographic project for development into a full artist monograph.

The brief is open: photographic projects of any subject, genre, or process, presented as a cohesive and ambitious body of work ready to be developed into book form. Selection prioritizes work that has the structural depth to sustain a full monograph rather than a strong serial portfolio.

One artist is selected. The selected artist receives full monograph publication by No-Type, with all production costs covered — editing, design, printing, and marketing — plus 20% of the total edition to sell and distribute at the artist's discretion. The selected artist also receives consideration for additional features in the magazine and across No-Type's digital platforms.

Six finalists are selected for published interviews on the No-Type site. All submitting artists are also considered for inclusion in an Editor's Choice issue of the magazine.

Eligibility is open to lens-based artists. Submission fee is $20. Submissions go through Typeform; the deadline is May 31, 2026, with the shortlist announced June 8 and final selection June 15.
