No Place Art — Edition Two: MATERIALITY
No Place Art is an artist-led initiative connecting artists with opportunities, professional development, and visibility through curated exhibitions and partner programs. "Edition Two: MATERIALITY" is the platform's themed open call for printmaking, painting, and mixed media work — note that this call is not specifically photography-focused, though photo-based prints and image-led mixed media practice are eligible.
The brief asks for work that engages with materiality as a conversation between the medium, the artist, and the viewer — exploring how surface textures and tactile qualities function as artistic language. Submissions to this edition center on printmaking and painting practices, with framed works accepted up to 2 × 2 meters.
Eighty artists are selected for the exhibition, running September 17 through 27, 2026 at The Handbag Factory in Vauxhall, London. The award structure is unusually rich: 19 awarding bodies offer 40+ awards including purchase awards up to £1,000, artist residencies of 1 to 4 months, solo and group exhibitions, materials vouchers from £50 to £500, mentoring programs of 3 to 12 months, and gallery representation up to 1 year.
Selection is by a jury that includes Aga Kubish (printmaker), Conor Rush (artist and founder of Starving Artists), Geoffrey Howe (mixed media artist), Giles Duley (photographer and CEO of Legacy of War Foundation), Matthew Burrows (painter and founder of Artist Support Pledge), Pia Austin-Little (Austin & Checker Art Advisory), and Roland-Philippe Kretzschmar (The Art Bystander).
Entry fee is £24. Eligibility is open to artists 18 and over. Submissions accept up to 5 images via DappleHQ. The 2026 deadline is May 31; results announced June 22.
