Nachleben 2026
Nachleben 2026 is the open call for Grenze – Arsenali Fotografici's themed photography festival in Verona, September 2026. The title comes from Aby Warburg's art-historical concept of the survival or afterlife of images and visual forms.
Three photographers or collectives are selected for the festival exhibition. The package is unusually well-resourced: two nights' accommodation during opening weekend, meals, travel reimbursement up to €300, and a production budget of up to €1,000 for prints and installation — covering the actual logistics of putting up a show.
There are no thematic restrictions inside the broad Nachleben framing — the jury selects on artistic merit and conceptual fit with the festival's premise. Eligibility is open to photographers of any age.
The 2026 jury is built from European photography festival directors: Aida Redžepagić (Founder & Director, Sarajevo Photography Festival), Jelena Janković (Program Director, Sarajevo), David Pujado (Founder, Belgrade Photo Month), Marta Szymańska (Curator, Fotofestiwal, Poland), and Grenze's Simone Azzoni and Francesca Marra.
Submission is by email with 10–20 images. Fee is €28. The 2026 deadline was April 30; results announced May 30, 2026.
