Motion
PH21 Gallery is a photography gallery in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter that runs themed juried exhibitions on a recurring schedule. Motion is the gallery's call for work engaging with movement — long exposures, motion blur, frozen split-second action, panning, sequence — photography's various technical strategies for capturing and evoking what it cannot literally show.
One curator's choice and up to three honourable mentions are announced. The curator's choice receives free entry (up to 15 images) for the next PH21 exhibition cycle. Selected work hangs at the gallery in Barcelona, June 27 – July 21, 2026.
Selection is by gallery director Zsolt Bátori (photographer and philosopher of art) and Borbála Jász (art historian and philosopher of art).
Eligibility is open globally to photographers 18+ with original work. Submission is by email — JPEG, longest side max 1200px, 3–15 images.
Fee structure includes an early-bird discount (deadline April 20) and a special student/unwaged rate of €15–€20. Standard rates run €25–€50. The 2026 final deadline was April 27; results announced May 2026.
