MACK — Photography Submissions
MACK is a London-based independent photobook publisher founded by Michael Mack in 2010. The publisher operates several imprints — MACK, SPBH Editions, A24, the Judd Foundation imprint, and Important Flowers — and has become one of the more closely-watched contemporary photobook publishers internationally.
MACK accepts submissions in dedicated thematic windows rather than rolling submissions, with each window edited by a different team member. Two photography-specific windows run in 2026: the Debut Photography Book window (May 1–31, 2026), edited by Michael Mack and Iman Hakimi, restricted to artists with no previously published books — they look for experimental approaches to the book form. The Photography window (June 1–30, 2026), edited by Morgan Crowcroft-Brown, is open to both established and emerging photographers, with stated focus on underrepresented voices and expanded visual vocabulary.
Each submission consists of a single PDF (a draft sequence of the project) plus a completed submissions form, sent to submissions@mackbooks.co.uk with the subject line "Submission: Photography." WeTransfer, Dropbox, and other download links are not accepted. The publisher commits to responding within one month of each window's deadline.
MACK does not provide feedback on rejected submissions. From acceptance to publication, the publisher notes "it typically takes between one and two years to develop and prepare a book for publication" — submission is the beginning of a long collaborative process rather than an immediate decision.
