KYOTOGRAPHIE International Portfolio Review 2026

KYOTOGRAPHIE is Japan's major international photography festival, held in Kyoto each spring. The International Portfolio Review is the festival's professional review program — three days of in-person reviews held April 17–19, 2026 alongside the festival.

Two awards run within the review: the Fujifilm Award and the new KYOTOGRAPHIE x Dazed Award for emerging photographers. Top award is ¥100,000.

The 2026 reviewer panel is built from major international institutions and publications: Thiago Nogueira (Contemporary Art Director, Moreira Salles Institute, São Paulo), Yumi Goto (independent curator), Mutsuko Ota (Editorial Director, IMA Magazine), Michael Famighetti (Editor-in-Chief, Aperture), Andrea Holzherr (Culture Director, Magnum Photos Paris), Takahiro Ito (Curator, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum), Marina Paulenka (independent curator), and Federico Estol (Artistic Director, SAN JOSE FOTO).

Eligibility is open globally to all ages, nationalities, and career levels. Reviewers see physical print portfolios — applicants bring printed work to Kyoto rather than submitting digitally for review.

Submission is through JotForm. Fee is ¥2,000. The 2026 deadline was March 31; review weekend April 17–19, 2026.
