Jugend fotografiert Deutschland 2025

Jugend fotografiert Deutschland is a German youth photography contest for ages 10–18, organized by the laif foundation (the photographic agency laif's nonprofit arm). The 2025/26 edition is themed "Be you. Be seen. Be heard." — work where young photographers turn the camera on what feels personally relevant to them.

The format favors documentary photo stories. Submitted projects can use smartphones or cameras — no prior photographic experience or specific equipment is required. The contest is structured to lower the technical barrier.

Submission can be by individuals or by teams of up to 10 participants, with optional coaches from schools, youth centers, or community organizations. Each story is 5–10 images. AI-generated work is not accepted.

Eligibility is restricted to German residents aged 10–18. Prizes range from €200 to €500 plus inclusion in an exhibition.

Submission is through Picter. Application is free. The 2025/26 deadline was April 17, 2026.
