Galleri Format — Window Exhibition 2026

Galleri Format is a contemporary art gallery in Malmö, Sweden — focused on photography, video, and film. The Window Exhibition is the gallery's open-call series adapted to its large street-facing windows on Stora Nygatan, beside Gustav Adolfs Torg in central Malmö. The 2026 edition is the sixth cycle.

The exhibition runs June 12 – August 9, 2026. The format is unusual: rather than gallery interior, the work is installed in the windows and viewable from the street. Proposals must be adapted for that context — built for passing foot traffic at all hours rather than for a typical gallery visit.

The gallery covers all production costs and pays an exhibition fee per the Swedish MU agreement (the standard exhibition compensation framework for visual artists in Sweden). Eligibility is restricted to professional artists.

Submission is by email — a single PDF proposal. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was April 22; results announced late April 2026.
