Emerging Stockholm

Year-round local open call from Fotografiska’s Emerging programme, running since 2023 and dedicated to supporting and showcasing early-career image-makers from across Sweden. Roughly three artists a year are invited to present their work within Fotografiska Stockholm’s exhibition programme, alongside opportunities for professional dialogue and development. Material is reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year, and only artists whose work moves forward in the internal review are contacted. Applicants must be 18 or over and based in Sweden. An emerging artist here means a photographer or image-maker whose work has not yet been presented in an institutional museum exhibition but who has already developed a recognisable visual language — not tied to age, years of experience or formal education, and including self-taught artists.
