Copenhagen Photo Festival 2026 Open Exhibition

Copenhagen Photo Festival is the Nordic region's largest annual photography festival. The Open Exhibition is the festival's juried public-submission show — held in the festival's main public venue, the Royal Theatre (Det Kongelige Teater). The 2026 edition runs June 11–17.

The 2026 theme is Forestil dig...? (Imagine if...?) — the brief invites speculative, alternate-reality, and imaginative responses rather than documentary work.

Fifty works are selected for physical exhibition: each is printed and framed by the festival, then hung at the Royal Theatre during the exhibition week. Non-selected submissions are shown digitally during the wider festival, June 11–21, 2026.

Prizes are CEWE printing vouchers: DKK 4,000 (first), DKK 2,000 (second), DKK 1,000 (third). Selected photographers receive free festival access and an invitation to the festival reception.

Submissions are a single square (1:1 aspect) JPG at 300 dpi, printable at 30×30 cm. Eligibility is open internationally to photographers aged 18+. Fee is 35 DKK. Deadline was May 5, 2026.
