Aurora 2026 Members Juried Exhibition

Aurora PhotoCenter, the artist-run photography centre in Indianapolis, opens its main gallery to its own membership for a juried show that treats photography as broadly as possible — all work that incorporates photography, in any subject, style or working method, will be considered. Barbara Tannenbaum, Chair of Prints, Drawings and Photographs and Curator of Photography at the Cleveland Museum of Art, is the juror; she organised over 80 exhibitions across 26 years at the Akron Art Museum before joining Cleveland in 2011, where her shows include Ilse Bing: Queen of the Leica and DIY: Photographers & Books, the first museum exhibition of print-on-demand photobooks. Any member current as of 31 August may send up to five images, noting print size, framing, capture method (35mm, 120, 4x5, DSLR, phone or other) and date. Submitting costs nothing beyond membership, and artists living outside Indiana can join through Aurora's $35 Distance membership. Aurora makes all decisions about printing, matting, framing, layout and pricing, and prints and prepares accepted work for the wall from existing frame stock free of charge. Work is priced at no more than $300; artists keep 70% of any sale or can donate the proceeds to Aurora. The show runs 4 December 2026 to 15 January 2027 with an opening reception on 4 December.
