Seen/Unseen at Eric Fischl Gallery
A portfolio-based call from the Arizona Photography Alliance for a gallery exhibition at the Eric Fischl Gallery, perched atop Phoenix College's Fine Arts Building with panoramic views of central Phoenix. Seen/Unseen invites the full range of photographic methods and styles — from the tangible world we perceive to the hidden meanings and emotional states we sense — and asks for a cohesive body of work rather than single images. The juror is Emilia Mickevicius, Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography in a curatorial post shared between Phoenix Art Museum and the Center for Creative Photography, previously curatorial assistant in SFMOMA's photography department, where she worked on Sightlines, Kinship: Photography and Connection and Sea Change. Selected applicants exhibit three to five works chosen from their submitted portfolio; all selected work is also presented as an online exhibition. Applicants must be current AZPA members at any level, though you need not live in Arizona — membership can be taken out at the time of applying. Accepted work must arrive exhibition-ready, shipped by 28 September or hand-delivered 29 September; the gallery retains 30% on sales. Exhibition runs 5–22 October 2026 with an opening reception on 5 October.
