Appalachian Nature Art & Photography Competition & Exhibition
Arcadian Gallery is a Cumberland, Maryland gallery. The Appalachian Nature Art & Photography Competition & Exhibition is a regional juried call celebrating the natural environment of the Appalachian region. The 2026 exhibition runs May 15 – June 20 at Arcadian Gallery.
The brief is geographically restricted by subject and by applicant: two-dimensional artwork or photography depicting Appalachian nature — landscapes, plants, wildlife, and other natural subjects from any Appalachian state. Eligibility is restricted to US residents 18+ from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington DC. AI-generated work is not accepted.
Photography-specific awards: Best of Show Photography ($500), Best Landscape Photography ($250), and Best Living Thing Photography ($250), plus a People's Choice Award ($250) chosen by exhibition visitors.
Selection is by Steven David Johnson (photography juror) and Terry Miller (art juror) — separate jurors per medium.
Submission is through the gallery's website with up to 10 images. Fee is $15. The 2026 deadline was April 7; results announced April 21, 2026.
