Amazing Abstracts 2026

National juried exhibition at MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for artists who have declared their independence from portraying reality — abstract work built on line, shape, colour, form and gestural mark, from drip paintings and colour fields to geometric designs and abstract patterns found in nature, architecture and human activity. Photography and photo-based work are accepted alongside painting, printmaking, mixed media, drawing and sculpture. Open to US residents 18 and over; submit 3 to 9 works. Awards include a $200 Director's Choice, an Art of Distinction award with a special exhibit in the gallery's second exhibition room, an honorable mention carrying free entry to a future MVA show, and an annual grand prize of a New York City exhibition opportunity drawn from all artists shown during the year. The gallery takes 30% commission on sales and artists cover shipping both ways. Exhibition runs December 19, 2026 – January 16, 2027.
