9th Chania International Photo Festival
The Chania International Photo Festival is held annually in Chania, on the Greek island of Crete. The festival is organized by Athens-based Blank Wall Gallery. The 2026 edition is the festival's 9th cycle.
Selected work is exhibited in the Grand Arsenali — Chania's restored Venetian-era arsenals, now used for cultural programming. The festival prints and frames selected photos at no cost to participants.
The brief is broad: 1–5 photos across 16 categories. Selection is by Maria Toutoudaki (Director, Blank Wall Gallery), Alain Schroeder (photographer), Bob Patterson (Publisher, Street Photography Magazine), and Frank Van Es (Professor, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam).
The fee structure is staged: free to submit, with a €43 fee charged only if accepted for the exhibition.
Eligibility is open globally. Submission is by email. The 2026 deadline was March 31; results announced April 15, 2026.
