24th DongGang International Photo Festival 2026 Open Call

The DongGang International Photo Festival (DIPF) is held annually in Yeongwol, a town in South Korea's Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province along the DongGang River. The 2026 edition is the festival's 24th — DIPF is among the longer-running photography festivals in East Asia.

The 2026 dates run July 17 through October 11. The theme is "The Silence that Shapes" — the brief asks how humans interpret nature and what meaning we project onto landscapes versus the inherent silence of natural spaces. The framing favors work that engages with landscape, environment, and human perception rather than purely portrait or documentary.

Fifteen to twenty artists or collectives are selected from the open call. One is named "Artist of the Year" and receives a solo exhibition with production support, plus travel and accommodation funded by the festival. Other selected artists are exhibited in the main, outdoor, or screening venues with all production and printing handled by the organizers, plus inclusion in the festival catalog, website, and ongoing press coverage.

There is no entry fee. Eligibility is open globally to artists and collectives. Submissions are 8 to 12 photographs in JPEG or TIFF format at minimum 4,000 pixels on the long side, plus CV/biography, an artist statement under 400 characters, and contact information. Selection is by the festival's curatorial team. The 2026 deadline is June 1; results announced by June 10.
