10th Singapore Young Photographer Award

The Singapore Young Photographer Award (SYPA) is an annual award organised by DECK Photography Art Centre, a registered Singapore charity and the organiser of the Singapore International Photography Festival. Now in its 10th edition, the award nurtures the next generation of Singapore-based image-makers aged 13 to 25.

The 2026 theme, "Echoes of Home", invites entrants to reflect on what home means to them and to those around them — the stories, history and heritage of place, and the interrelationships between people, their environments, and their origins. Submissions are made in two age categories: Junior (13–18), a portfolio of 5–7 images drawn from at least three of five subjects (architecture, nature, landscape, portrait, still life); and Youth (19–25), a connected photo series of 7–10 images.

Over $8,000 in prizes is awarded across the categories, including cash, Nikon cameras, rental vouchers and certificates. Finalists are announced in August 2026, winners in September, and the finalist works are exhibited at an awards ceremony during the Singapore International Photography Festival in October 2026. Entry is free, with submissions made through Judgify.
