Thresholds 2026: Up, Close and Personal
Thresholds is the Los Angeles Center of Photography's annual street photography exhibition. LACP is one of LA's principal photography institutions — a nonprofit with a school, gallery, and exhibition program. The 2026 theme is Up, Close and Personal — intimate street photography rather than wide observational work.
Selection is by Michaela Norah Mohrmann, assistant curator at UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art. Single-juror selection.
The exhibition is digital projection plus an in-person opening event, running May 7–31, 2026 at LACP's Helms Design District location. Cash prizes: first $500 plus a one-year LACP membership; second $500 LACP gift card; third $250 LACP gift card.
Eligibility is open to international photographers of all skill levels. Submission is through Submittable with 1–35 images. Fee starts at $25 for one image; LACP members receive a 25% discount.
The 2026 deadline was April 21; results announced April 28, 2026.
