The House & Garden Show
Blue Sky Gallery is one of the longest-running photography galleries in the United States, founded in 1975 and based at 122 NW 8th Avenue in Portland, Oregon. "The House & Garden Show" is part of the gallery's 50th anniversary celebration, which features 12 monthly themed online exhibitions throughout 2026. The theme references the original 1986 exhibition, retitled and updated for the 50th-anniversary cycle.
The brief is open in interpretation: shelter and nature explored through intimate interiors, domestic moments, wild backyards, and cultivated landscapes. Literal, abstract, or imaginary approaches are equally welcome.
Selection is made by a special committee assembled for each anniversary cycle exhibition. Selected work is displayed online only and not offered for sale. Entry is free, with no Blue Sky Gallery membership required.
Submissions accept up to three images per artist, sized to a maximum of 1500 pixels on the long side, named lastname_firstname_title.jpg. Eligibility is open to all photographers. Notable: accepted artists are not individually notified — they confirm selection by checking the gallery website on the launch day.
The 2026 deadline is Friday May 15, 2026 at 4:59 PM PT. The virtual exhibition launches Thursday, June 4, 2026.
