The Art of Abandonment
TCG Gallery (also operating as Chateau Gallery) is an online curatorial platform that runs themed photography exhibitions with published catalogs. "The Art of Abandonment" is the gallery's open call for photography exploring abandoned and rediscovered objects, locations, and structures — work that examines what forgotten spaces reveal about humanity, memory, and the passage of time.
Approximately 35 images are selected for the online exhibition, running June 1 through July 1, 2026. The selection structure includes Curator's Choice and Director's Choice awards plus Honorable Mentions. The jury is structured as a rotating assortment of past exhibitors, curators, editors, and arts professionals using a blind jury process — jurors see only the image and its title.
Selected work is included in the published catalog, promoted across the gallery's website and social media with attribution, and offered for sale through the gallery (which retains 30% commission).
Eligibility is restricted to photographers aged 18 and over. AI-generated and AI-altered work is not accepted. Citizens of countries under U.S. comprehensive sanctions (Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Belarus, Russia) cannot submit.
Entry fee is $15 for up to 3 images, with merit-based and hardship waivers available. Submissions are JPG at minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side, 500 KB minimum file size. The 2026 deadline is May 25 at 11:59 PM; notification May 27.
