That's Absurd.

Absurdist open call from the Alliance for the Arts, the nonprofit visual and performing arts centre on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers, running since 1975. The show invites work that treads the line between meaning and meaninglessness — collapsing expectations, twisting logic, turning the familiar unrecognisable. Surreal imagery, exaggerated forms, inconclusive narratives and playful disruptions of reality are all fair game, in serious humour and methodical chaos. Open to all artists everywhere, one to three works, with photography among the accepted categories alongside painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, glass, printmaking, fiber and digital media. Absurdest in Show takes a $200 cash award, with four Most Absurd prizes across figurative, food-related, 2D and 3D work. On display November 6–28, 2026.
