Showcase 2027
Northwind Art's Showcase programme fills the Jeanette Best Gallery on Water Street in Port Townsend, Washington with roughly thirty-six artists a year, arranged in three cohorts that each hang for about four months: 28 January – 10 May, 13 May – 6 September, and 9 September 2027 – 3 January 2028. Jurors look for a cohesive body of work and pay particular attention to retail pricing, aiming to select artists whose work generally sits under $1,000. The programme is geared towards artists in Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, Kitsap and Island counties but the application is open to artists outside them; Showcase artists may not be represented by another gallery or retail outlet in Port Townsend during their run. Ten images are required, each with dimensions, medium and retail price, and no imagery derived from AI. The selection panel is made up of two Northwind Art exhibits staff, exhibit designer Suzanne Lamon and executive director Martha Worthley. The $35 fee is waived on the honour system for artists from historically underrepresented BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Everyone is notified by 5 December 2026.
