Provoke USA — Open Call

Provoke USA is a photography zine published by Domino Film Photo Magazine in Chicago. The brief is explicitly historicized: the zine takes its name and approach from the Japanese Provoke movement of the late 1960s — Daido Moriyama, Takuma Nakahira, Yutaka Takanashi, and the others associated with destabilizing certainty and revealing a world beyond conventional language.

The zine accepts work that engages with that lineage: rough, blurred, contrasted, are-bure-boke, or other approaches that resist clean documentary description.
