The Printmaker and the Photographic Image: Dissolving Media Boundaries

Remarque Print Workshop & Gallery is an Albuquerque, New Mexico printmaking facility — distinct from a typical photography gallery in that the venue centers around traditional printmaking infrastructure (etching presses, lithography stones, screenprinting setup, photopolymer plate work). "The Printmaker and the Photographic Image: Dissolving Media Boundaries" is the gallery's themed call for hybrid work that combines photographic processes with traditional printmaking.

Eligible techniques are specifically those that produce hand-pulled prints: cyanotype, photogravure, photopolymer, photocollage, and other alternative processes that combine photographic elements with printmaking. The brief is explicit: "the final image must be a hand-pulled print; no solely digital output." Selection criteria favor work that demonstrates technical sophistication while conveying emotional valence.

The exhibition runs June 19 through August 1, 2026 at Remarque in Albuquerque. Sales are split 50/50 between artist and gallery.

Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable) for up to 3 images. Maximum paper size 16×20" or 20×16". Eligibility is open internationally. Submissions go through CaFÉ. The 2026 deadline is May 10 at 11:59 PM MDT; artists notified by May 19; accepted works due June 4.
