Penumbra Foundation Risograph Publication Residency

Penumbra Foundation's Risograph Publication Residency is a separate program from its main Workspace Residency. The premise is specific: produce a small edition risograph photobook at Penumbra's NYC facilities. The residency provides equipment access, technical support, and production guidance.

Notable accessibility: no prior risograph experience is required. The residency is structured to teach the process during production.

Selection is by Catherine E. McKinley (curator and writer), Joshua Chuang (Director of Photography, Gagosian), and Travis Shaffer (artist and educator).

Eligibility is open globally. Submission is through Picter with 15–30 images representing the project to be made. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was March 31; results announced May 15, 2026.
