On the Block - Street & Urban Photography
On the Block is the Lucie Foundation's open call for street and urban photography. The Lucie Foundation runs the Lucie Awards, the International Photography Awards, and a wider program of grants and exhibitions. The 2026 edition is the second cycle of On the Block.
The brief is specific: unposed, unfiltered street and urban photography. The selection priority is moments revealing quiet truths and vivid stories — observational rather than constructed work. AI-generated work is not accepted.
Top prize is $1,000 plus inclusion in the exhibition.
The 2026 jury is Paris Chong (Gallery Director, Leica Gallery Los Angeles), Lynn Johnson (photojournalist and educator), Arturo Soto (photographer, writer, and educator), and Matt Stuart (Magnum-affiliated street photographer).
Eligibility is open globally. Submission is through the Lucie Foundation website, single image per entry. Fee is $20. The 2026 deadline was March 31; results announced April 2026.
