LUMINEX 4.0

LUMINEX is an outdoor art and technology exhibition staged in Los Angeles, produced by NOW Art — the LA-based public art organization. The 2026 cycle is the program's fourth edition (LUMINEX 4.0).

The brief is positioned at the intersection of art, light, and technology — projection, immersive installation, and light-based work made for public outdoor space rather than gallery interiors. The audience is the city itself.

The financial structure is two-part rather than a single award. Each selected artist receives a $1,000 stipend. Production fees are negotiated separately based on the approved project — so an ambitious installation can be resourced beyond the stipend, while a simpler proposal stays lean. The split lets the organization fund work at different scales without forcing a flat budget.
