Les Mots du Phare Vol. 04: Futur(s)

Les Mots du Phare is a recurring print publication produced by Linea Recta Books and Le Phare Collectif, a Paris-based collective working at the intersection of photography and writing. The 2026 edition is Vol. 04, themed Futur(s) — futures, plural.

The brief frames the theme as imagining what seems impossible: a tomorrow, an after, a continuation. The editorial position is explicit — not the end of the world, but the courage to imagine what is possible. The plural form (Futur(s)) leaves room for multiple, conflicting, or ambivalent readings.

The publication is process-restricted: black-and-white photography only. Selected images are featured in the printed edition alongside text contributions from members of the Phare Collectif — the publication intercuts visual and literary work rather than running them in separate sections.

Each application is up to 4 black-and-white photographs combined into one PDF, submitted by email. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was April 26.
