In The Practice of Seeing — High School Section
Free national juried photography exhibition for high school students, running as the teen section of Jacksonville State University's In the Practice of Seeing and shown in the Roundhouse Gallery at Hammond Hall alongside the main exhibition, 27 August – 24 September 2026. The brief treats photography as an active process of perception rather than a neutral record — seeing shaped by attention, context, memory and cultural framework. Open to all photographic processes including digital, film, alternative processes, mixed media incorporating photography, and photographic installations; every entry must originate from a camera-based capture or a cameraless photographic method such as photograms, cyanotypes or wet plate. Open to students aged 13–17. Up to 3 images, free to enter; framed work no larger than 16 × 20 inches, with artists responsible for shipping or delivery. Winners receive an Adorama Photo sponsored gift card.
