Griffin Museum — Material Work: Toil & Grace

The Griffin Museum of Photography is the Winchester, Massachusetts photography museum, one of the major US photography institutions. Material Work: Toil & Grace is one of its themed online exhibitions.

The brief takes labor as subject: the difficulty and beauty of work in all its forms — artistic, physical, emotional, intellectual, domestic, agricultural, industrial, invisible, and performative. The selection is interested in images of work that feel earned — humanity found in toil rather than romanticized labor.

Eligibility is open globally. Submission is by Google Form, single image. Application is free. The 2026 deadline was April 10; selection announced April 20, 2026 with the exhibition opening.
