Fotobus Library Award 2026

The Fotobus Library Award is administered by Fotobus Society, a Germany-based photography network. The award is structurally distinctive in two ways: the jury is composed entirely of student members of Fotobus Society — bringing a younger curatorial perspective to photobook selection — and selected books become permanent additions to the mobile Fotobus Library, which travels to photography festivals across Europe.

The 2026 cycle recognizes the 10 best photobooks released between March 2025 and March 2026. Winning books are exhibited at two of the most important international photobook venues: Rencontres d'Arles (July 6–12, 2026) and Polycopies in Paris (November 12–15, 2026). Selected work is also featured in the Fotobus Society newsletter, Instagram, and website to a network of 1,700 members.

Eligibility requires the submitted book to be a published work with a minimum 100-copy print run, with photography as the primary medium. Self-published works are accepted alongside trade publications. AI-generated images disqualify the book. Unpublished dummies and dummy books are not eligible — this is a finished-book award.

Submission is free of charge. Submitted books are mailed to Hannover and become part of the mobile Fotobus Library — they are not returned. The 2026 deadline is May 15, with results announced June 2026.
