Figuratively Speaking
Regional exhibition on the human figure at the Wallkill River Center for the Arts in Montgomery, in New York's Hudson Valley. The call asks how we see ourselves and how we see others: 'With all the special attributes that make each of us an individual, the one truth that we can't get around is that we all share humanity, for better or worse. Tell us a story.' Juried by painter John McGiff (BFA SUNY Purchase, MFA University of Pennsylvania, two Delaware Division of the Arts painting fellowships). One entry of up to four pieces per artist, $25, waived for WRCA artist members. Open to US residents 18 and over; work must be hand delivered by 8 November — no shipping. AI-generated work and reproductions such as giclée prints of paintings are not accepted. 2D works up to 30 inches wide by 40 inches high including the frame, priced by the artist between $200 and $9,000. Gallery takes 30% commission; exhibition runs 14 November – 20 December 2026.
