Eddie Adams Workshop 2026

The Eddie Adams Workshop is a four-day photojournalism intensive held in Jeffersonville, New York, founded in 1988 by Pulitzer Prize–winning photographer Eddie Adams. The 2026 workshop runs October 9–12, marking the program's 38th year. The workshop is widely regarded as one of the most consequential single events in early-career photojournalism — the alumni network has produced staffers and freelancers across The New York Times, National Geographic, AP, and most major editorial outlets.

Each year, 100 photographers are selected — evenly split between college students and early-career professionals. Participants are assigned to one of ten color-coded teams, each led by a working professional photographer. The 2026 team leaders are Kiliii Yüyan, Deanne Fitzmaurice, Katie Orlinsky, Victor Blue, Maye E-Wong, Maddie Meyer, Marvin Joseph, Lynn Johnson, Salwan Georges, and Alan Chin.

The workshop is tuition-free for accepted students. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have less than six years of full-time professional experience. Staff positions at major publications for more than six years disqualify the applicant.

The application fee is $40, with late entry available through May 31 at $55. AI-generated work is not accepted. Submissions go through Submittable and require 12 to 20 images. The 2026 deadline is May 24, with results announced early July.
