Creative Capital Award 2027

Creative Capital is one of the major US grant organizations supporting individual artists. The 2027 award cycle is the program's 27th year. Since founding, the organization has committed over $60 million to 750+ projects across disciplines.

The award structure has two tracks. The main Creative Capital Award provides $15,000–$50,000 in project funding plus advisory services and career development support — funded over the course of the project. The newer State of the Art Prize awards $10,000 unrestricted grants to individual artists.

The application is three rounds: Round I (project proposal), Round II (detailed materials for shortlisted applicants), Round III (panel review). The brief is open across disciplines: photography and visual arts are eligible alongside other artistic disciplines.

Eligibility is restricted: US citizens, permanent residents, Tribal ID holders, or O-1 visa holders aged 25+ with at least five years of professional artistic practice. Applicants must not be enrolled in a degree-granting program.

Application is free, made through Creative Capital's website. The Round I 2027-cycle deadline was April 2, 2026 at 3 PM ET; final results announced early 2027.
