Contemporary Trends in Beauty: Alternative Processes is a juried call from L.A. Photo Curator (the platform run by Laurie Freitag), with co-curation by alternative process specialists. The brief is doubly restricted: handcrafted prints made through alternative photographic processes, and the final print must be handmade — not just a digital reproduction of an alt-process image.

Selection is by Diana H. Bloomfield (visual storyteller) and Christina Z. Anderson (alternative processes artist) — both deeply rooted in the alt-process community.

Eligibility is restricted to alternative process work. Submission is by email in groups of 3 or 6 images. Fee is $25. The 2026 deadline was March 29.
