Changing Asia 2026

The Changing Asia photo exhibition, organised by China Daily with the Asia News Network, returns with the theme "Moments of Connection: Smiles and Hands of the Asia-Pacific" — a phrase drawn from the 2026 APEC leaders' meeting slogan, and a brief that asks for real interactions: collaboration, trade, mutual assistance, cultural exchange. Within that frame the call keeps its long-standing threads — the social, economic, environmental and cultural shifts reshaping the continent, stories of resilience told through individual communities, and Asia's diversity documented in its contrasts as much as its connections. Entry is free and open to photographers worldwide; work must have been made since 1 January 2023, and basic colour correction and filters are accepted. Selected images are shown in the exhibition, published in the accompanying photo book and awarded a certificate. Earlier editions launched in Bangkok (2022) and Jakarta (2023) before moving online in 2024, which drew over 1,400 submissions from more than 40 countries. The 2026 exhibition opens on 26 October at the Shenzhen Research Institute of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, ahead of the APEC meeting.
