Celebrating Color

A national juried group exhibition at Edgewater Gallery, an artist-owned collective that has been part of downtown Fort Bragg on California's Mendocino Coast since 2003. The show takes colour in any form or dimension as its subject — atmosphere, emotion, memory, and the way chroma changes what we see — and the gallery says it is especially interested in work with a distinctive relationship to colour, whether through intensity, harmony, contrast, material presence or unexpected combinations. Photography is explicitly among the accepted media, alongside painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, collage, fiber, sculpture and ceramics; AI-generated work, video and installation are not accepted. Open to artists 18 and over living in the United States, up to three works each, all of which must be original, for sale, and available for the full run. Two-dimensional work must be ready to hang without sawtooth hangers, and pieces must fit through a standard door. The four jurors are all working artists: ceramicist Alexis Moyer, mixed-media abstractionist Chris Hagie, painter Gwen Lowery, and Karin Denson, whose glitch-based paintings, photomontages and collages sit between nature and technology. Jury results 7 September, work due by 25 September, exhibition 1 October – 2 November 2026 with an opening reception on 2 October. The gallery takes 40% commission.
