Candid — Carlotta Gallery

Carlotta Gallery is a UK-based virtual photography gallery that runs themed open calls roughly bi-monthly. "Candid" is one of the gallery's themed calls, focused on the photographic tradition of attention — work rooted in presence, patience, and trust in the unfolding moment, rather than staged or constructed imagery.

The submission model is free to apply, pay-only-if-selected: £20 for one accepted artwork, £30 for two, or £35 for three. There are no cash prizes — selection is the recognition.

Selected work is shown in a virtual online exhibition for a minimum of six months and up to one year. Selected photographers also receive permanent placement on the Carlotta Gallery Collections page with their biography, a free PDF of the exhibition catalogue, a Certificate of Recognition, and potential feature on the gallery's Instagram account (@carlottagallery).

Eligibility is open globally to photographers aged 18 and over. Each photographer submits up to 3 JPG images by email, accompanied by name, Instagram handle, biography, artist statement, and artwork details. The 2026 deadline is May 25.
