Black and White
Black and White is Decode Gallery's themed call dedicated specifically to monochrome photography — celebrating the depth and tonal range of black and white photography across all genres. The brief is medium-specific rather than subject-specific: portraiture, landscape, documentary, architecture, conceptual, and abstract work all qualify, provided the work is in monochrome.
At least 26 images are selected for the physical exhibition at Decode Gallery in Tucson, Arizona, running July 4 through 25, 2026.
What's unusual: the gallery covers all professional printing on Epson printers with Ilford Pearl paper, museum-quality 22×22 inch white framing, and custom matting. The artist provides only the high-resolution JPEG. Prints are retained in the gallery's flat files for two years after the exhibition for further promotion.
Sales terms split commission 50/50. Selected work is also promoted across Decode's website and social media. Selection is by Decode founder Holly Hart, a conceptual fine art photographer.
Entry fees: $40 for 5 images or $45 for 10 images. Eligibility is open worldwide to amateur and professional photographers. The 2026 deadline is May 23, with selection announced approximately June 6.
