Being Human — Artdoc Magazine Open Call
Artdoc Photography Magazine is an online photography magazine (e-ISSN 3050-8029) operating themed open calls, curated exhibitions, and editorial publications for photographers. "Being Human" is the magazine's themed open call inviting photographers to examine how human presence manifests in diverse cultural contexts.
The brief is broad: portraits, environmental imagery, documentary photography, and conceptual work all qualify, provided the work engages with the human condition across distinct settings or communities. The framing favors substantive editorial work over single iconic images.
Selected work may be showcased through three channels: curated online exhibitions on the Artdoc platform, the Featured Submissions page (rolling editorial coverage), or upcoming themed magazine issues. The selection format is editorial rather than a single-prize competition — strong submissions are placed where they best fit Artdoc's ongoing program.
Submission is free for current Artdoc Magazine members; non-members must subscribe to participate. The membership-gating model ensures applicants are also magazine readers — a deliberate alignment between submitter and audience.
The 2026 deadline for the Being Human cycle is May 25, 2026. Eligibility is open globally.
